1. About this Disclaimer

This Health & Medical Disclaimer explains the limits of health, wellness, product, ingredient and AI-generated information provided by Apoteca.al.

It applies to information shown on or provided through our website, online store, mobile applications, product pages, product descriptions, ingredient explanations, search results, recommendations, articles, marketing materials, customer support channels, AI assistant and related services.

This Disclaimer forms part of our Terms & Conditions and should be read together with our Privacy Policy, Returns, Refunds & Cancellation Policy and Acceptable Use & AI Notice.

Nothing in this Disclaimer limits your mandatory consumer rights under Albanian law.

2. Apoteca is a parapharmacy, not a pharmacy

Apoteca.al is a parapharmacy and wellness retailer. We sell dermocosmetics, food supplements, personal-care products, over-the-counter medical devices, sports nutrition products and similar wellness goods.

Apoteca.al is not a pharmacy.

We do not:

  • sell prescription medicines;
  • dispense prescription medicines;
  • compound medicines;
  • prescribe medicines;
  • diagnose medical conditions;
  • provide medical treatment;
  • provide pharmaceutical treatment;
  • provide emergency medical services;
  • replace a doctor, pharmacist or other qualified health professional.

Any reference to wellness, health, ingredients, supplements or product benefits is provided for general information and shopping support only.

3. No medical advice

Information on Apoteca is not medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, prescription, emergency advice or individualized health advice.

This includes information from:

  • product pages;
  • product descriptions;
  • ingredient explanations;
  • product filters and categories;
  • search results;
  • recommendations;
  • articles or guides;
  • marketing content;
  • customer support;
  • reviews or user content;
  • the AI assistant.

The Platform is not a substitute for consultation with a doctor, pharmacist, dietitian or other qualified professional.

You should not rely on Apoteca to diagnose a condition, treat symptoms, choose medication, manage disease, assess dosage, interpret medical tests, or decide whether a product is safe for your personal circumstances.

4. Food supplements are not medicines

Food supplements, vitamins, minerals, sports nutrition products and similar products are not medicines.

They are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, prevent or heal any disease or medical condition.

Food supplements should not be used as a substitute for a varied and balanced diet, a healthy lifestyle, medical treatment, prescribed medication, or professional healthcare advice.

Individual results may vary. We do not guarantee that any product will produce a specific result, improve a specific condition, or be suitable for every person.

5. Health and nutrition claims

Apoteca aims to limit health and nutrition claims to wording that we consider permitted, authorized, or otherwise appropriate under applicable health-claim rules and product-claims standards.

Where relevant, Apoteca may use the EU nutrition and health-claims framework, including permitted-claim wording associated with EFSA/EU rules, as an internal standard for product-claim control.

We do not intentionally make claims that a product:

  • treats a disease;
  • cures a disease;
  • prevents a disease;
  • heals a disease;
  • fixes a medical condition;
  • replaces medication;
  • replaces professional medical treatment;
  • guarantees a health result.

Product information may come from product labels, manufacturers, suppliers, regulatory sources, scientific references or other product documentation. We aim to review and present information responsibly, but product information may change and may not always be complete, current or suitable for your personal circumstances.

The product label, packaging, leaflet, warnings, ingredients list, usage instructions and expiry date delivered with the product are the primary source of information for safe use.

6. When to consult a doctor or pharmacist

You should consult a doctor, pharmacist or other qualified professional before using a product, especially if you:

  • are pregnant;
  • are breastfeeding;
  • are buying for a child;
  • are under medical supervision;
  • have a chronic condition;
  • have allergies, sensitivities or intolerances;
  • take prescription or non-prescription medication;
  • use other supplements, cosmetics, medical devices or sports nutrition products;
  • have had previous adverse reactions;
  • are unsure whether a product is suitable for you.

You should also seek professional advice before combining supplements, using products long-term, changing your routine because of symptoms, stopping medication, or using any product for a health-related concern.

7. Children

Products should be used by or for children only where the product label, manufacturer instructions and applicable law allow it.

Do not give supplements, sports nutrition products, medical devices, skincare actives or similar products to a child unless the product is suitable for children and you have followed the label instructions and, where appropriate, consulted a doctor or pharmacist.

Apoteca does not provide pediatric medical advice.

8. Pregnancy and breastfeeding

If you are pregnant, trying to become pregnant or breastfeeding, consult a doctor or pharmacist before using supplements, cosmetics with active ingredients, essential oils, sports nutrition products, medical devices or similar wellness products.

A product being “natural”, “herbal”, “clean”, “gentle” or “wellness-related” does not automatically mean it is safe during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

9. Allergies, sensitivities and adverse reactions

You are responsible for checking product ingredients, warnings and instructions before use.

Do not use a product if you are allergic or sensitive to any ingredient, or if the product label warns against use in your circumstances.

If you experience irritation, allergy, intolerance, unexpected symptoms or any adverse reaction, stop using the product and seek appropriate professional advice.

If the reaction is serious or urgent, contact emergency medical services immediately.

Apoteca is not responsible for reactions caused by your failure to read or follow product labels, warnings, expiry dates, usage instructions or professional advice, except where liability cannot be excluded under applicable law.

10. Use products as labelled

You must use products only as instructed on the label, packaging, leaflet or accompanying information.

You should not:

  • exceed the recommended dose;
  • use a product after its expiry date;
  • use a product if packaging is damaged, opened, altered or suspicious;
  • mix products in a way not recommended by the manufacturer;
  • use products for purposes not intended by the manufacturer;
  • ignore warnings, contraindications or storage instructions;
  • rely on online information instead of the product label.

For supplements, do not exceed the stated daily intake unless advised by a qualified health professional.

For skincare, cosmetics and personal-care products, consider patch testing where appropriate and follow the product instructions.

For sports nutrition products, follow the recommended serving size and do not treat them as a substitute for a balanced diet.

11. Product suitability and results

Products sold by Apoteca may not be suitable for everyone.

Suitability may depend on factors such as age, health status, pregnancy, breastfeeding, medication, allergies, skin type, diet, lifestyle, existing conditions, product combinations and individual sensitivity.

We do not guarantee:

  • a particular health outcome;
  • a cosmetic result;
  • weight loss;
  • muscle gain;
  • performance improvement;
  • symptom relief;
  • disease prevention;
  • suitability for your personal circumstances;
  • absence of side effects, irritation, allergy or intolerance.

Before buying or using a product, you are responsible for deciding whether it is appropriate for your needs and, where needed, seeking professional advice.

12. AI assistant limitations

Apoteca may offer an AI shopping assistant to help with product discovery, product categories, general ingredient explanations and general wellness-product information.

The AI assistant is not a doctor, pharmacist, medical device, diagnostic tool, emergency service, treatment tool or substitute for professional advice.

You must not use the AI assistant for:

  • medical emergencies;
  • diagnosis;
  • symptom interpretation;
  • treatment decisions;
  • medication decisions;
  • dosage decisions;
  • disease management;
  • deciding whether to stop or change medication;
  • deciding whether a product is safe for pregnancy, breastfeeding, children or a medical condition;
  • replacing consultation with a doctor or pharmacist.

The AI assistant may produce incomplete, incorrect, outdated, unsuitable or misunderstood information.

You should verify important information by reading the product label and consulting a qualified professional where appropriate.

The AI assistant is designed to avoid medical advice, treatment claims and disease claims. Where a question appears to involve symptoms, illness, diagnosis, treatment, medication or urgent concerns, the assistant may advise you to consult a doctor or pharmacist instead of recommending a product.

13. Do not submit sensitive medical information to the AI assistant

You should not submit sensitive medical information, health records, diagnoses, medication lists, test results or other special-category personal data into the AI assistant.

If you choose to submit such information, you do so at your own risk and it may be processed according to our Privacy Policy.

Apoteca may review, restrict, delete or refuse to process AI conversations where they contain unnecessary sensitive information, unsafe requests, suspected abuse, medical-emergency content or content that breaches our policies.

14. Customer support limitations

Our customer support may help with orders, product availability, delivery, returns, refunds, general product information and Platform use.

Customer support does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, prescription advice or personalized health recommendations.

If your question involves symptoms, illness, medication, pregnancy, breastfeeding, children, chronic conditions, allergies, dosage, interactions or suitability for a specific health situation, customer support may direct you to consult a doctor or pharmacist.

15. Reviews and user content

Reviews, ratings, questions, comments or other user-submitted content may reflect personal experiences and opinions of individual users.

User content is not medical advice and should not be relied on as proof that a product will be safe, suitable or effective for you.

We may remove or moderate user content that includes medical-treatment claims, disease claims, unsafe advice, misleading statements, offensive content, personal data, spam or content that breaches our Terms & Conditions or product-claim standards.

16. External sources and third-party information

Apoteca may refer to external sources, manufacturer materials, supplier materials, regulatory sources, scientific references or third-party websites.

We do not control third-party websites or all third-party materials and are not responsible for their availability, accuracy, completeness, safety, legality or content.

A reference to an external source does not mean that Apoteca endorses every statement, product, claim, service or opinion found there.

17. Errors and changes

We try to keep product information, prices, availability, descriptions and ingredient information accurate and up to date.

However, errors, omissions, outdated information, translation issues, packaging changes, formulation changes or availability changes may occur.

If you notice an error, contact us at [email protected].

We may correct errors, update product information, change descriptions, remove claims, restrict products, cancel affected orders or take other appropriate steps where needed.

Always read the product label and information supplied with the product before use.

18. Emergencies

The Platform is not for medical emergencies.

If you have a medical emergency, severe symptoms, a serious allergic reaction, suspected poisoning, breathing difficulty, chest pain, loss of consciousness, severe pain or any urgent health concern, contact emergency medical services immediately.

Do not wait for a response from Apoteca, customer support or the AI assistant.

19. Mandatory rights

Nothing in this Disclaimer excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

Nothing in this Disclaimer limits your mandatory consumer rights for defective, unsafe, incorrect, expired or non-conforming products.
